The mission of The Sunstone Education Foundation is to sponsor open forums of Mormon thought and experience.

We examine and express the rich spiritual, intellectual, social, and artistic qualities of Mormon history and contemporary life. We encourage humanitarian service, honest inquiry, and responsible interchange of ideas that is respectful of all people and what they hold sacred.

"There are hundreds of thousands of people that you know and people that you do not know who are walking beside you right now, taking step by step, the steps that need to be taken for you to have full and beautiful citizenship everywhere in your life."

Carol Lynn Pearson
Author and Playwright

"You are seen, you are heard, you are known, you are felt, because your experience is my experience, your heart is my heart, your story is my story."

Michael Adam Ferguson
Neuroscientist, Harvard University

"You are loved. You are good, and I apologize that we have not been more careful with you, that we have not embraced you in ways that we should, and that we have not loved you to the depths that you need."

Rev. Dr. Fatimah Salleh
Founder, A Certain Work Inc.

"There is nothing wrong when you chose to celebrate, and show your elation and excitement around dating when the homophobic language in the honor code was removed."

Laura Skaggs Dulin
Therapist, Flourish Counseling

"The world is big, and wide, and we want you in it. I don't worship a god who is small. I worship a God who marvels in the diversity of their creation, and we are all part of that."

Lindsay Hansen Park
Executive Director, Sunstone

"The enormous talents and abilities of LGBTQ persons throughout the world... are a treasure. We need to amplify that treasure. To all of you who are considering whether there is room in this church for you, I hope that you'll find that room."

Greg Prince

"I think that you make the music of life interesting and beautiful. You make the world complete and whole. It's not the same without you. The university community is not the same without you. The Church is not the same without you."

Bob Ahlander
Co-Founder, BYU Vocal Point

"I want a campus where we all can feel safe, and where we all can celebrate our diversity."

Brian Hauglid
